Know It or Not

Fr. Justin challenges one of our most deeply held assumptions about faith: that our belief, or lack thereof, somehow limits God's ability to work in our lives. Drawing from Matthew's account of the Great Commission, we encounter a startling detail often overlooked—when the disciples saw the resurrected Christ on the mountain, some of them doubted, but this in no way stopped Jesus from commissioning them and promising to be with them always. The reality and work of God exists independent of our acknowledgment of God. The Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—operates in our lives whether we fully comprehend it or not, whether we always feel convinced or not. Infant baptism is a sign of this, where a child incapable of intellectual consent receives God's grace purely as gift. God's promise is effective just because God is almighty and good.
