The God of Snow Days

Jan 25, 2026

Just as we can only truly know another person by being in their presence, God chose to reveal Himself personally in Jesus Christ. This is why the early church insisted Jesus must be both fully divine and fully human—so that when Jesus speaks, God speaks; when Jesus acts, God acts. The Gospel passage from Matthew showing Jesus proclaiming forgiveness and healing the sick becomes our window into God's very heart. We discover that God is relentlessly on our side, pursuing us with forgiveness rather than punishment, always working to remove whatever impedes our flourishing. God is Christlike and in Him there is no un-Christlikeness at all. If we want to know about God, we know where to look.
