Drop the Nets of Our Expectations

Father Justin's 2026 State of the Church address grounds us in Jesus' call to his first disciples: 'Follow me.' St. Barnabas has seen incredible tangible and spiritual growth in the past few years. Rather than propose a five-year plan to take us into the future, our strategic planning committee and vestry instead launched an 18-month Season of Innovation & Evangelism. Just as Peter and Andrew dropped their nets immediately upon hearing Christ's voice, St. Barnabas is striving to drop the nets of our expectations for our church and follow Jesus into a future that could be better and brighter than anything we can project now. Following Jesus isn't about having a perfect plan or knowing exactly where we're headed. Instead, it's about responding to a divine invitation with radical trust, trusting He will give us living water in a world oversaturated with everything except what truly satisfies.
